History
Many of the old homes of Stillwater reflect
the legacy of the Lumbering Boom that
brought the town into existence in the mid
1800’s.  The floors, moldings and trims are
taken from trees that were harvested and
milled in this area.  Most of the lumber that
passed through this town continued down
the river to build the great cities to the
south.

Schools

Stillwater has long been known for its great
schools.  Even during years of budget cuts,
the public schools have remained strong.
The schools’ successes are in part due to
the teaching staff that is so dedicated to the
students.  Along with the public schools,
Stillwater offers several other options for
education.   Other schools in the area
include Salem Lutheran, St. Croix Catholic
and charter schools, New Heights and St.
Croix Preparatory Academy.
